HALIFAX (GNB) – The public and stakeholders are reminded of the New Brunswick sessions, which started today, that offer an opportunity to make submissions explaining how they have been affected by changes to Employment Insurance.

The reminder is being issued by the advisory panel to the Pan-Atlantic Study of the Impact of Recent Changes to Employment Insurance, established by the Council of Atlantic Premiers. An initial invitation was issued Dec. 2, 2013.

To register as a participant, individuals may call 1-855-681-8210 (toll-free) or in New Brunswick 506-453-2592; or they may visit the council website or email to [email protected]. The public is also encouraged to provide information to the panel by participating in a telephone survey.

Stakeholders and affected organizations received invitations to participate in sessions this fall with representatives from the advisory panel within their respective province. The public or organizations may also ask to appear at these sessions.

Written submissions will be accepted by mail or email until Jan. 31, 2014.

The New Brunswick sessions started this afternoon in Tracadie-Sheila. The remaining sessions in the province are:

●    Jan. 8 - Miramichi, Howard Johnson Inn and Suites, 9:30 a.m.
●    Jan. 9 - Shediac, Multipurpose Centre, 9:30 a.m
●    Jan. 17 - Grand Falls - Best Western Plus, 1 p.m.

A final report from the advisory panel is anticipated early this year.
