FREDERICTON (GNB) – Sixty-eight new books and other resources that are part of an ongoing effort to end family violence are now available at public libraries and bookmobiles in the province. They are also available through the online catalogue of the New Brunswick Public Library Service.
The materials – ranging from autobiographies to children's books – have been added to the provincial public library collection through a grant of $1,000 from the Muriel McQueen Fergusson Foundation to the Friends of the New Brunswick Public Libraries Foundation.
"New Brunswickers now have access to more resources through their public libraries and bookmobiles,” said Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour Minister Danny Soucy. "The resources that the provincial public library service makes available for free to the public contribute daily to an enhanced quality of life for all New Brunswickers."
"We are pleased to provide this grant to the Friends of the New Brunswick Public Libraries Foundation," said Therese Murray, executive director of the Muriel McQueen Fergusson Foundation. "Making materials related to family violence available to New Brunswickers through the public library system helps to strengthen our education and awareness efforts to end family violence."
