FREDERICTON (GNB) – The provincial government and the New Brunswick Union of Public and Private Employees signed today a new, four-year contact. It applies to industrial training and certification officers at the Department of Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour.

Human Resources Minister Troy Lifford and Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour Minister Danny Soucy joined union representatives to sign the collective agreement.

"Through collaboration and hard work, we have arrived at our latest collective agreement with our union partners," said Lifford. "I thank all those involved for their contribution to this process."

Added Soucy: "I thank our employees who provide valuable apprenticeship training and certification services."

The collective agreement provides for two years of zero-per-cent increases, followed by one-per-cent increases every six months.
