FREDERICTON (GNB) – Eleven students at the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design have each received a scholarship or bursary from the New Brunswick Community College (NBCC) Foundation. The recipients were announced by Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour Minister Danny Soucy.

“Our government is committed to ensuring that students across the province have access to the resources they need to be successful in their post-secondary education,” said Soucy. “We are thankful that the Community College Foundation shares in this commitment by providing scholarships and bursaries to well-deserving students.”

Photography students Felicia Duguay and Nicole Maggio, and Integrated Media student Guy-Olivier Tene, each received a bursary of $1,100.

The Ralph Kirkbride Memorial Scholarship of $500 was awarded to Jewellery / Metal Arts student Jade Ainsley.

Three Fredericton Community Foundation Scholarships valued at $200 each were presented to Integrated Media student Matthew Brooks; Graphic Design student Michael Daigle; and Photography student Nadia El-Khoury.

Meghan Mitton, a Graphic Design student, was the recipient of the I.O.D.E. Clark House Trust Fund Scholarship, valued at $600.

Two $1,100 scholarships in memory of Rick Burns, artist and educator, were awarded to Ceramics student Jaclyn Calhoun and Textiles student Melysa Savoy.

David Stewart, a student in the two-year Integrated Media program, received the Harrison McCain Foundation scholarship, worth $1000.

Criteria for the NBCC Foundation scholarships and bursaries include academic performance and financial need.
