BERTRAND (GNB) – The Village Historique Acadien is launching its full summer program this weekend, which includes some new features.

The brand new Café de la Gare will be open from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. starting on Saturday, June 28, where visitors will be able to enjoy a coffee roasted on the premises.

Breakfast at the Hôtel Château Albert will be available starting on Sunday, June 29. Fresh bread, homemade jams, and homemade cretons are just a few of the items on the menu. The hotel will be open for breakfast every morning from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. until August 18.

The Château Albert is also offering a new musical dinner format starting on Sunday, June 29. The menu will feature some new traditional Acadian dishes, such as morue à la crème [creamed cod], bouillie de viande salée [salt pork boiled dinner], and poule à petit feu [slow-roasted chicken]. Various musical groups will perform:

  • Théo Brideau and Jean-Éric Paulin: Théo Brideau (violin, voice, and foot tapping) is an all-round artist who will charm listeners with his talent and good humour. He teaches violin and is a member of several musical groups, including La Virée. He will be accompanied by guitarist and singer Jean-Éric Paulin, who is a member of the group La Belle Amanchure.
  • Justin Doucet and Myriam Arseneault: Justin Doucet (violin and voice) will be accompanied by Myriam Arseneault (piano and voice). These two young and talented artists will entertain with their youthful and dynamic traditional music.
  • Roger Lanteigne and Nicholas Basque (or Léonide Albert): Roger Lanteigne is one of the best accordion players in Atlantic Canada. He will be accompanied by Nicolas Basque (guitar, voice, and foot tapping) or by his long-time friend and partner, Léonide Albert.
  • Louise Vautour and Christian Kit Goguen: This duo in life and in music has charisma and talent to spare. Louise Vautour has played violin since an early age. Christian Kit Goguen, singer and guitar player, is recognized for his voice and unique presence on stage. He is better known for being in the group Ode à l'Acadie but also for singing in the Cirque du Soleil, with which he has performed around the world.
  • Donat Lacroix: Donat Lacroix has been singing about Acadie and the sea for more than 50 years. This singer-fisherman and singer-songwriter-composer from Caraquet will charm listeners with his Acadian tunes.
