Monument unveiled marking Officers’ Square as Provincial Heritage Place
A plaque and monument were unveiled at Officers’ Square in Fredericton recognizing it as a Provincial Heritage Place in commemoration of it being the starting point of the march of New Brunswick’s 104th Regiment of Foot during the War of 1812. From left: Honorary Colonel of the Royal New Brunswick Regiment Bob Dallison; Public Safety Minister and Solicitor General Stephen Horsman; St. John River Society's executive director Molly Demma; Tourism, Heritage and Culture Minister Bill Fraser; president of Commercial Properties John F. Irving; deputy mayor of Fredericton Eric Megarity; representing the Friends of the New Brunswick's 104th Regiment Randall Haslett; descendant of members of the 104th Regiment Gary Campbell; and at the back, the Royal New Brunswick Regiment.
