FREDERICTON (GNB) – Monthly social assistance payments made by cheque through the Department of Social Development will be available for pick up at designated sites around the province.

The department is taking this step to prevent potential delays with the mail delivery of the cheques dated July 29. Monthly payments sent by direct deposit will be issued as normal.

Clients are reminded to bring their health card and one other piece of identification or two pieces of identification in order to collect their payment.

Only social assistance payments will be available for pick up at the designated sites. All other monthly payments that are not direct deposit can be picked up at the department’s regional offices. People with questions can contact their regional office.

From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., on July 28 or July 29 (unless otherwise specified), clients will be able to pick up their cheques at these locations:

Region 1 – Moncton area
