WOODSTOCK (GNB) – Senior goodwill ambassadors from across New Brunswick gathered in Woodstock May 10 and 11, at the midpoint of their two-year term of promoting all that the province has to offer.     

“I thank our senior goodwill ambassadors for the good work they accomplish every day,” said Social Development Minister Sue Stultz, who is also minister responsible for Seniors, Housing and Community Non-Profit Organizations. “Through their community work and hospitality they promote New Brunswick’s natural resources, tourist attractions, culture and heritage.”

During their meetings, the ambassadors discussed and shared information, gave presentations on activities within their respective counties and learned more about promoting New Brunswick, including through presentations from the Department of Culture, Tourism and Healthy Living.
 
As part of their mandate, the ambassadors are invited to greet visitors to the province; address community groups; participate in and organize community activities; and encourage travellers to extend their visits to New Brunswick. They help guide visitors and participate in conferences, presentations, ribbon-cutting and citizenship ceremonies.

“Our ambassadors are volunteers who are passionate about what they do,” said Stultz. “These seniors commit their time and effort to representing our province.”
