CAMPBELLTON (CNB) – The waterfront amphitheatre in Campbellton was officially opened today.

"This new outdoor amphitheatre will help attract more visitors to Campbellton and to the Restigouche region,"said Premier David Alward. “The provincial government is proud to be a partner in this project which will see musicians, various groups and festivals make use of this beautiful waterfront infrastructure."

Alward and Campbellton Mayor Bruce MacIntosh participated in the ceremony.

Located along the city's waterfront, the new amphitheatre is part of Campbellton's Restigouche Esplanade, a waterfront and tourism development project. The provincial government, through the Regional Development Corporation, provided $300,000 towards the amphitheatre project.
