LAMÈQUE (CNB) – The provincial government is investing a total of $289,500 in five projects in the Lamèque area.

"The provincial government is proud to invest in community projects that attract visitors to our region and promote a healthy lifestyle for families," said Economic Development Minister Paul Robichaud.

The provincial government is investing:

●    $100,000 in the Town of Lamèque for improvements to Camping Île Lamèque (Lamèque Island camping);
●    $15,000 to develop a cultural project for the Acadian islands;
●    $130,000 to the Town of Lamèque for repairs to the landing in Petite-Lamèque;
●    $12,000 to the Parent School Support Committee for École Sr St-Alexandre to begin a multi-sensory room project for students at the school and for community residents; and
●    $32,500 to the Comité Deux Îles, mille trésors (two islands, a thousand treasures committee) for a treasure hunt project, which will consist of site development and acquisition of equipment.
