SHIPPAGAN (CNB) – The provincial government is investing $109,000 in two recreational infrastructure projects in Shippagan.

"It is important to invest in and maintain key recreational infrastructure," said Economic Development Minister Paul Robichaud  "The provincial government is proud to invest in these types of community projects that promote healthy living for families. Today's investments will increase wellness in our region."

The province is investing $80,000 in infrastructure improvements to the Centre Rhéal Cormier Arena. A new skateboard park, located next to the arena, will receive $29,000. The Town of Shippagan is also investing in both projects.

"These major investments in our recreational and sporting infrastructures will allow our population to promote their recreational activities and improve their health," said Shippagan Mayor Jonathan Roch Noël.
