FREDERICTON (GNB) – Students are reminded that applications for the summer 2017 Student Employment Experience Development (SEED) program will close on Friday.
“Your government understands that jobs, health care and education are the top priorities of New Brunswickers,” said Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour Minister Donald Arseneault. “The SEED program will provide valuable experiential learning opportunities for up to 2,000 New Brunswick students this summer and will help build a skilled workforce in our province.”
Through the program, students can apply for jobs that will help them develop transferable skills and reach their career goals. They can learn more about the application process and eligibility, and also apply online. Employers may also post job opportunities online. Once the application process is closed, eligible students will be randomly selected from the pool of registered applicants to ensure fairness and equal opportunity. High school and college students will receive a summer job placement of up to eight weeks. University students will receive placements of up to 10 weeks.
“With only days to go, I encourage all eligible students to take 10 minutes to submit the online application,” said Arseneault. “The experience and skills that participants will gain will last a lifetime and will set up our youth for future success in their career.”
