FREDERICTON (GNB) – The following statement was issued today by Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour Minister Francine Landry:

Wherever you may be this Labour Day, take a moment to appreciate the people who are working to move our province forward. The women and men who make up our workforce are all valued contributors to the quality of life we appreciate here in New Brunswick.

Despite the ongoing challenges we face as a province, we cannot ignore the significant contribution that is made every day, in every region and in every sector. Through innovation and hard work, we can show ourselves and the world that our province is welcoming and open to new opportunities.

This Labour Day, our government reaffirms its commitment to New Brunswick’s workforce to ensure strong employment standards.

We celebrate Labour Day with our family and friends and recognize the achievements of workers who contribute to the strength, prosperity and well-being of our province.

As minister responsible for labour, I wish you a safe and happy Labour Day weekend.
