FREDERICTON (GNB) – The provincial government and the New Brunswick Teachers' Federation have reached a tentative collective agreement.
“We have been working diligently to reach an agreement with teachers and we are very happy that a tentative agreement has been reached,” said Treasury Board President Roger Melanson. “Education is one of our government’s three key priorities along with health care and job creation. That is why we have developed a 10-year education plan and why our government is investing more in education than ever before.”
The tentative agreement covers more than 7,500 teachers, supply teachers, vice-principals and principals. The provincial government and the federation have agreed to withhold details until a ratification vote is held.
Since October 2014, the provincial government has reached agreements with 22 union groups.
