FREDERICTON (CNB) – An information management seminar will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 20, at the Wu Conference Centre in Fredericton. The seminar is being organized by the Atlantic chapter of ARMA International, a not-for-profit organization for records and information management professionals, to mark the chapter’s 30th anniversary.

The seminar’s theme is 30 Years of Global Information “Warming” and will feature the following educational sessions:

•    What success looks like - implementing an electronic records management system;
•    Life in the clouds - the impacts of social networking in the workplace; and
•    Information governance - what you need to know to manage the way information is used, shared and analyzed.

The featured event, information governance, will include a panel discussion that will focus on how technology affects the way information is managed and how organizations are at risk. Guest speakers for ARMA's fall seminar will be:

•    Brenda Prowse, manager of Professional Services and Information Solutions, Prima Information Solutions, St. John's, N.L.;
•    Jesse Wilkins, principal consultant, Access Sciences, Denver, Colorado;
•    Ian Walsh, chief privacy officer, Department of Supply and Services, Fredericton;
•    Matthew Dare, solution architect, Swift Radius, Halifax; and
•    John Youssef, security consultant, Virtual Sight Security, Fredericton.
