Sighting in Firearms Transfer Permit

Overview
Persons wishing to sight in or recreationally target practice with non-restricted firearms on Crown or private land may request a free Firearms Transport Permit from the Dept. of Natural Resources and Energy Development (DNRED) or Service New Brunswick (SNB).
Eligibility
Persons in legal possession of non-restricted firearms (rifles and shotguns not deemed restricted or prohibited)
Description
All shooting must be in strict accordance with the Fish and Wildlife Act concerning legal discharge distances and time of day.
Permits are only granted for those Sundays when hunting is permitted.
The permits are free of charge and may be requested by phone from DNRED Offices and then sent digitally to the client.
Permits may be issued for a maximum of 5 consecutive days and must be presented, upon demand, to Dept. of Public Safety Conservation Officers or any other peace officer engaged in “resort of wildlife” enforcement duties.
