FREDERICTON (GNB) – Natural Resources Minister Denis Landry is wishing New Brunswick moose hunters a safe and successful season as the annual hunt begins today.

“Moose hunting is an extremely popular sport in our province and generates economic activity and jobs,” Landry said. “Our moose hunting season has historically been very successful, with about 70 per cent of those who have obtained a licence finding success. I want everyone to have a great hunt and above all, practise safe hunting.”

There are 4,592 moose licences for the 2015 hunt which were issued through a draw. More than 63,000 applications were received.

Starting this year, residents can apply to the moose draw using e-licensing and their Outdoors Card. Residents are being encouraged to register online for an Outdoors Card.
