FREDERICTON (GNB) – New Brunswickers are encouraged to participate in the public consultation process for Sisson Mines Ltd.’s proposed molybdenum/tungsten open pit mine and ore processing facility.

"The Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Regulation of the Clean Environment Act calls for a public participation process to be conducted as part of the review prior to a decision on the project,” said Environment and Local Government Minister Brian Kenny. “I encourage New Brunswickers to provide their input about the project by participating in this process.”

A public meeting chaired by a panel of independent experts will be held at 7 p.m. on June 22 in the Stanley High School gymnasium, 28 Bridge St., Stanley. To register to make a presentation at the public meeting, contact the Department of Environment and Local Government at 506-453-3700. The meeting will also provide an opportunity for general comments.

The EIA report, summary, and general review statement are available for a 90-day review and comment period from April 16 through July 17. Copies of the summary and the general review statement are available at the following locations:

A copy of the complete EIA report in both official languages is available on the Department of Environment and Local Government’s website and at local municipal offices in Florenceville-Bristol, Fredericton, Stanley, Woodstock, Millville and Nackawic and at the public libraries in Fredericton and Stanley.
