FREDERICTON (GNB) – Improvements and upgrade work will be made to Hanwell Road this year as part of the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure’s 2017-18 capital budget.

“Our government is listening to the priorities of New Brunswickers and we understand the impact the right investments at the right time can have for businesses and families,” said Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Bill Fraser.

The work is the final phase of construction along the Hanwell Road and will include paving, widening and improvements to traffic flow between Serenity Lane and Bishop Drive.

“By making improvements like this, we are ensuring that our infrastructure meets the needs of travellers who use this road every day,” said Fraser.

The department’s $458 million capital budget reflects the government’s priority to support asset management of the province’s 990 buildings, 22,900 kilometres of highways and 6,300 bridges and large culverts.
