ST. STEPHEN (GNB) – The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure advises the public that Route 170, east of Route 3 and the traffic circle in St. Stephen, will be closed to all traffic on Sunday, Sept. 11. The closure will begin at 7 a.m. with the road re-opening to traffic Sunday evening.
The closure is necessary to carry out maintenance to the railway crossing and the travelling surface on both sides of the crossing.
Detour signs will be in place. The detour route is through the interchange of Route 1 and Route 3, and will go to the Route 1 and St. David Ridge Road interchange.
The department apologizes for the inconvenience and reminds motorists to drive safely in construction zones. The public is encouraged to call 511 or visit the 511 webpage for updates on planned construction and maintenance activities.
