FREDERICTON (GNB) – Spring weight restrictions will be lifted from all New Brunswick highways on Sunday, May 17.

The spring weight restrictions for routes in southern New Brunswick had been extended for one week to allow roads to recover from frost heaves and will be lifted at midnight, May 17.

Spring weight restrictions for routes in the northern part of the province will also be lifted at midnight, May 17, as originally scheduled.

Should weather conditions warrant, district engineers are authorized to close roads at any time to trucks or to impose weight restrictions on highways or portions of highways.

More information on spring weight restrictions can be found on the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure’s website.
